For my webventure, I would like to create an interactive webpage that highlights the feminine struggle with body image. A great portion of my recent artwork has followed this theme, as it is a very prevalent topic amongst multiple areas of my life. Translating my own struggles through are is very healing for me, so my ultimate goal is for others to have a similar therapeutic experience when looking at my art. With this piece, I want to be very honest and vulnerable which will inevitably entail darkness, but I also want to be optimistic and beautiful. My hope for this project is for women who struggle to be confident to feel heard and validated in their feelings, but I also want to inspire them to find the beauty in their body and strength in their insecurities. I want to start with a homepage featuring a female figure and separate pages of each individual body part, showing both the negative and positive ways I feel about each.
I have always appreciated the art of the human form. When I first discovered my love for art, I would almost exclusively draw human bodies and/or faces. I am still navigating the world of digital art and I would like to push myself out of my comfort zone with this piece. I have used Illustrator a lot more than Photoshop thus far since I am used to drawing, but for this piece, my goal is to predominantly use Photoshop to become more familiar with it. This project will be very personal, so I am nervous, but I am also very excited.
